If you’re trying to get the hang of it, finding the key of the song is, for me at least, the hardest part. I found that just remembering what a couple of notes sound like helps me figure out the key ^^. Like for some reason, A,E, and B stuck in my head. Not sure why but they did ^^. I use those notes to figure out the key
By the way, there can never be too many emotes! XD

Some tips would be:
- To remember the basics
- Practice slow first
- Practice hands separately
- Enjoy the music!
Even though the pieces I play now are much more difficult than they used to be, remembering basic techniques (like relaxing and keeping the wrist up) help a whole lot more than I could ever imagine.
When I get stuck on a difficult passage, playing that part slowly even for 10 minutes a day will help you improve a lot ^^
Remember that your ultimate goal is to make music! Enjoy it! If you don’t like the piece you’re playing, try learning about the composer who wrote it, and if possible, why he/she wrote the piece. Whenever you play music, you should be expressing yourself/telling a story with your music. It’s not just notes ^^

Thanks for your tips! I really like the video of Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu – God Knows Piano Solo and all your naruto pieces! My old piano teacher taught me about tones and he told me to relax. He used to hold my wrist so my was floppy so I could lean my arm weight on it. He used to also always ask me to hold his wrist when he played a demo for my pieces. I thought it was meaningless and rather stupid because I couldn’t understand the difference between his playing and mine. Now, thanks to you, I am able to understand what a great teacher he was and what he was trying to teach me. Thanks A Bunch!!
Yes! That was the same with my old piano teacher! But I didn’t realize how important the things that he taught me were until recently. But, at least now I can really know the meaning behind the techniques he told me. I’m glad that I could help you understand ^^

I used to compose music a few years back and I only finished about 3 pieces. I played piano for many years, on and off, then gained a newfound appreciation for it years later.
Alas…the story ends in tragedy. I stopped playing the piano after I did not pass a Level 7 piano exam…I had also applied for the music composition major in college, but did not get into that major…*sigh*…broken dreams…

I arranged it by ear. It’s a very difficult thing to begin learning, but once you get used to it, it becomes much easier. It’s easiest to listen to one instrument at a time. I usually start off with the melody, then the bass, then all the middle stuff.

This is a great sight you have put together. I have been a keyboard player for years and had played professionally for about 16 years. I was very fortunate that the high school I went to provided College Music Theory for Juniors and Seniors. By the time I was out of high school I already had completed College Music Theory. I was sought out by so many musicians who have become very successful in the industry. Learning to play an instrument is very enjoyable. Knowing how to write music is awesome. I agree with so many things you have covered. You have to have a great tone. You also have to convey your feelings and emotions while playing the song or it becomes completely lifeless. I have a very unique way of teaching music theory that people pick up on right away. If a musician tries to write a song without knowing the basics, the listener will normally find their music to be unpleasant to hear. Keep in mind that Hit or Popular songs are listened to and appreciated by mostly uneducated ears. The uneducated ear although knows what sounds good. Keep up the great work!

This is a great sight you have put together. I have been a keyboard player for years and had played professionally for about 16 years. I was very fortunate that the high school I went to provided College Music Theory for Juniors and Seniors. By the time I was out of high school I already had completed College Music Theory. I was sought out by so many musicians who have become very successful in the industry. Learning to play an instrument is very enjoyable. Knowing how to write music is awesome. I agree with so many things you have covered. You have to have a great tone. You also have to convey your feelings and emotions while playing the song or it becomes completely lifeless. I have a very unique way of teaching music theory that people pick up on right away. If a musician tries to write a song without knowing the basics, the listener will normally find their music to be unpleasant to hear. Keep in mind that Hit or Popular songs are listened to and appreciated by mostly uneducated ears. The uneducated ear although knows what sounds good. Keep up the great work!
